The Moyad Road has brown tourist sign at either end marking it as part of cycle route No 1, the Newcastle / Lough Island Reavy Route. There are classic hill climbs onto the Slievenaman Road from Rostrevor and Hilltown.
Happy Vale is located between the mountain biking trails at Rostrevor (12 miles) and Castlewellan (4 miles).
With green, blue and red grade trails (including black options) Castlewellan is a must-visit for mountain bikers of all ages and abilities. The trails offer panoramic views over the lake and surrounding forest and castle.
On the shores of Carlingford Lough, the Rostrevor Mountain Bike Trails offer some challenging mountain biking where efforts are rewarded with incredible coastal views and exhilarating singletrack descents.
Also close by is the MTB Skills Course at the Tollymore National Outdoor Centre.
